Check-ins confirm that you were physically at a venue. They help keep reviews real, strengthen your TrustScore, and unlock progression as you explore.

A check-in does not directly reward XP, LP, or credits but it plays a powerful role in your overall progress:

• It boosts the TrustScore of your future reviews

• It helps complete quests and achievements

• It unlocks higher rewards when you later leave a review

• It strengthens the authenticity of your contributions

🚀 How to check in

Checking in takes only a few seconds:

1. Tap the + floating action button (FAB)

2. Select Check-in

3. Confirm your location selecting the venue you're currently at

4. App will verify your biometrics if activated

5. That's it, you're checked-in and your visit is now verified.

🧭 Location rules

To keep check-ins fair and trustworthy, the system automatically ensures:

• You must be close to the venue to check-in

• You cannot check in remotely or outside the allowed range

• Spoofed or manipulated locations are blocked

If you're too far away, check-ins simply won't work.

🛡️ How we verify your presence

weRate uses lightweight, privacy-safe signals to maintain authenticity:

• GPS confirms you're actually at the venue

• Phone biometrics for proof-of-humanity

• Suspicious check-ins are (automatically) rejected

• No extra steps are required unless you choose to add more proof

Check-ins are always optional, but they significantly increase the credibility and the rewards of your future reviews. The review process also offers further options to verify your location.
