To ensure every review on WeRate is real, we’ve built a layered verification system that blends real-world presence with digital proof. Authenticity isn’t just a feature, it’s our foundation.

📍 Proof-of-Location

• Users must be physically present at the venue for a minimum period

• Verification through GPS, the Foursquare API, and timestamped photos

• Cheating is blocked through:

  • Jailbroken device detection

  • Natural movement monitoring

  • AI-powered image checks

• EXIF metadata is analyzed to confirm timestamps, device ID, and GPS match and cross-checked with previous uploads

🙋 Proof-of-Personhood

• Biometric validation when checking in or posting

• Phone number confirmation to ensure unicity

• Optional wallet-based identity linking via verified Solana address

🧾 Proof-of-Purchase

• Users can upload receipts or bills for validation

• AI cross-references time, venue, and purchase match

• Both visual content and EXIF data are analyzed for consistency
